Dynamic Leverage
One account, every device. MetaTrader 5, WebTrader, and native mobile apps stay perfectly in sync so you never miss a move.
What is Dynamic Leverage?
Dynamic leverage automatically adjusts to the size of your trade, giving you more flexibility as your positions grow. Smaller trades benefit from higher leverage, while larger positions shift to more conservative ratios — helping you manage risk without having to think about it.

Q&A
Everything about our trading platform.
How does dynamic leverage work?
Dynamic leverage is set in tiers based on your trade size. For example, when trading gold (EURUSD) on a ThinkTrader account, the first tier might offer 2000:1 leverage for trades of 0-1 lot, and the second tier provides 1000:1 leverage for trades of 1-5 lots, and so on.
So, if a trader opens a position with 5 lots of EURUSD, the first lot has 2000:1 leverage, and the remaining 4 lots have 1000:1 leverage. The overall leverage for this trade becomes 1200:1, which is an average of the leverage applied to all 5 lots.
Are there additional costs to using dynamic leverage?
No. Dynamic leverage is free and will not incur additional trading costs.
Which instruments is dynamic leverage available on?
Dynamic leverage is available on all products on a ThinkTrader and MetaTrader 5. They include major, minor, and exotic forex pairs, along with gold (XAUUSD and XAUEUR) and silver (XAGUSD), indices, synthetic indices, energies and cryptocurrencies.
Do the leverage rates and tiers change?
ThinkMarkets reserves the right to adjust dynamic leverage and lots per tier, typically based on market conditions, but it can also occur when your equity changes across any of your accounts:
- 30 minutes prior to, during and up to 15 minutes after the release of important news;
- 3 hours before and 1 hour after weekend market closure and market breaks
